Well Written Birthday Card

A friend asked me to make some cards for her. This is one of the cards I made. An interesting thing about this card is that there is zero stamping on it! Take a look:

All supplies available from Stampin' Up!:
Cardstock: Purple Posy (Item #150881)
Daffodil Delight (#119683)
Basic Gray (#121044)
Accessories: Best Dressed Designer Series Paper (retired)
Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper (#152493)
Mini Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine (#150673)
Tasteful Labels Dies (#152886)
Well Written Dies (#151816)
5/8" Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (#146912)
Gold Glitter Enamel Dots (#152155)
Foam Adhesive Sheets (#152815)

If you notice that the label looks to be rather thick, it is because I used the Foam Adhesive Sheets on the back side. Some of the Tasteful Label dies have embossing edges on them, so that when I ran it through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine, it gave a really deep embossed edge to the label. Plus it is like a great big solid sheet of Dimensional foam, so it also pops it up! Awesome!

I also  loved using the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper. It adds such a beautiful touch of shine to this card. And it comes with so many different pieces of the laser-cut paper that you have multiple options to create with!

If you see anything you want to order, please feel free to contact me about helping you to place your order.  Or go to https://www.stampinup.com and use the item numbers that I included. And I would appreciate it if you put me as your demonstrator, if you are not already working with one.

Thanks for stopping by, and please subscribe to my blog. That way you will know when I post next time! Also leave me a comment letting me know how you like this card.

See you soon,

Peaceful Season's Greetings

"Peaceful Boughs" is a wonderful stamp set that is made by Stampin' Up! It has a coordinating die set called "Beautiful Boughs" that I also used to make the pine cone, and the pine bough. The pale green leaves and the gold foil branches are from the "In the Woods" die set. I love to layer my die cuts. It gives such a feeling of dimension and depth.

The wood patterned paper is from the "In Good Taste" Designer Series Paper. It has so many great patterns that have that photo-realism look to them. Wood, stone, textiles, etc... It is a great collection of papers!

And with the Real Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels and the Real Red/Whisper White stitched trim from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack topping it off with a cute little bow, my card is all done!

A Sunflower Card of Thanks

Recently I participated in a swap where the theme was "Gratitude, or Thanks".

I had a dream about this card before I created it, and it turned out so much more beautiful than in my dream. In my dream I had created a card that was a "Gatefold" card. A gatefold card is a card that opens in the center, like two halves of a gate might. This card uses 1/2 a sheet of card stock for the base, cut at 8-1/2" x 5-1/2". Then you score it at 2-1/8" and also 6-3/8", folding both sides so that they meet in the center. Then you just decorate it how you want. Isn't it gorgeous?! I created a belly band to wrap around the card to hold it closed. Then you just slide the band off to open up the card and see the inside!

Take a look:

All supplies are available from Stampin' Up!:

Very Vanilla (Item #101650)
Inks: Calypso Coral (Item #147101)

Thanks for stopping by, and please subscribe to my blog. That way you will know when I post next time! Also leave me a comment letting me know how you like this card. I would love to see if you make one like it, or use this gate fold technique on your own design.

Thanks, and come visit again, and as always, if you need to order any Stampin' Up! supplies, I would love to be your demonstrator.

Forever Fern Christmas Card!

I wanted to make a Christmas card using a stamp set that maybe you wouldn't think of as a Christmas set. So I picked out the Forever Fern stamp and die bundle.

Here is my finished card:

All supplies available from StampinUp.com :
Stamp sets: Forever Fern (Item #152559)
Banner Year (Item #153464)
Ink Pads: Shaded Spruce (Item #147088)
Pear Pizzazz (Item #147104)
Cardstock: Shaded Spruce (Item #146981)
Pear Pizzazz (Item #131201)
Real Red (Item #102482)
Whisper White (Item #100730)
Accessories: Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine (Item #149653)
Forever Flourishing Die Set (Item #152714)
Lovely Labels Pick-A-Punch (Item #152883)
Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels (Item #146924)
Stampin' Dimensionals (Item #104430)

I stamped 6 of the leaf clusters in Shaded Spruce, and 6 more of a smaller leaf cluster in the Pear Pizzazz. Then, using the die set, I ran them through the Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine to cut them all out easily. I also used the little sprig die, and cut out 6 of them in Real Red cardstock. I then layed them out in a circle, alternating the dark green leaves with the lighter green leaves, gluing them together when I was happy with the arrangement and shape. I tucked the little red sprigs in here and there where I thought they looked good. I still thought it needed something, so that is when I added the Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels. It added just the right amount of color and sparkle! Then I attached the wreath to my card using the Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up a bit.

FOREVER FERN BUNDLE (ENGLISH)
Forever Fern stamp set/die bundle (Item #154094, save 10% off the regular un-bundled price!)

Since Forever Fern is not traditionally a Christmas set, it has no Christmas greetings included in the stamp set. I chose to use the stamp set "Banner Year" which is in the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog. It has greetings and small images that can cover several different holidays, from Halloween to Valentine's Day!

I hope you like my Christmas wreath card. I think it turned out wonderful! If you would like to order any  of the supplies to make this card yourself, I would be thrilled if you listed me as your demonstrator!

Thanks for stopping in to visit!

A Season of Thanks

I know that Thanksgiving was a few days ago, but I just want to let you all know that I am thankful for all of you who visit my little blog. I struggle with getting things posted, but you still come visit me, and I am truly blessed every time you come back. Thank you so much. I will keep trying to be better, and I hope you will continue to keep visiting.

Here is a card I made for a friend who was thoughtful of me when my family recently lost a beloved family pet.
All supplies are from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:
Stamp set: Gather Together (Item #150589)
Ink pads: Cajun Craze (Item #147085)
Merry Merlot (Item #147112)
Cardstock: Thick Very Vanilla (Item #144237)
Pretty Peacock (Item #150880)
Cajun Craze (Item #119684)

Accessories: Gathered Leaves Dies (Item #150662)

Come To Gather Designer Series Paper (Item #150454)
Come To Gather Ribbon Combo Pack (Cajun Craze Linen Thread) (Item #150456)

I made a couple other cards similar to this one, but I used a different greeting, and added a few of the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels (item # 150457). This card was given to a man friend, and I thought that maybe he wouldn't care for them, so I left them off of his card.

I hope you all had a wonderful day!

Thanks for stopping by,
Kathryn

TGIF Challenge Fail!!

I was searching the internet for some inspiration last week, and I saw something on TGIF Challenge Blog that I thought would be fun to participate in. The only problem was that the link was going to expire in like 14 hours. Normally 14 hours would be plenty of time to put together a card, photograph it, prepare it to post, and then write a blog post for it. But part of that 14 hours I was meant to be asleep, and then I needed to go to work the next morning. So really I only had like 3 hours. Not enough time for me. I decided to do it anyway, and then just post it to my blog when I got the chance.

The inspiration challenge was to get your inspiration from a Stampin' Up! catalog. Your inspiration could be so many different things: stamps, papers, colors, product, catalog samples! So many wonderful things to inspire you! My inspiration came from the holiday catalog, from the Monster Bash Suite of products. So here is my card:

All supplies used are available from Stampin' Up! (Item numbers are listed in parentheses):
Stamp set: Spooktacular Bash (150544)
Card Stock: Basic Gray (121044), Basic Black (121045), Cajun Craze (119684)
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (132708)
Accessories: Die Cutting machine of your choice, Ornate Frames Dies (150664),
Monster Bash Designer Series Paper (150447), Monster Bash Enamel Shapes (150448),
Frosted Frames Dies (150658), Frosted Bouquet Dies (147895),
Come To Gather Ribbon Combo Pack (150456), Stampin' Dimensionals (104430)

Well, thanks for stopping by today to check out my card. I can't wait to send this one to one of my best "ghoul friends"!

See you soon,
Kathryn
