I Died and Fell off the Earth...But Now I'm Back!

Don't you just hate it when life gets in the way of your fun?!

I had to get a full-time job, and it has seriously put a crimp in my crafting time, what with having to take care of my family, cooking, shopping, cleaning, laundry, etc... I am really having a difficult time getting up to my desk to create! But recently, my sweet husband helped me out with dinner duty so I was able to sneak up to do some card making.

Stampin' Up!'s 2016 Occasions catalog is my source of inspiration for this card. Take a look:

All supplies from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise stated:
Stamp sets: Carousel Birthday, Thoughtful Banners
Card stock: Peekaboo Peach, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral
Inks: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Peekaboo Peach, Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Cupcakes and Carousels Designer Series Paper Stack, Bermuda Bay Stampin' Write Marker, Blender Pens, Paper Snips, 3/8" Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack (from Sale-a-Bration), Clear Wink of Stella Brush, Paper Snips, Large Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Dimensionals

In the close-up you can see the sparkle and shine from the Wink of Stella brush. And the gold shine on the ribbon is so pretty in person, but it just doesn't show up in the photograph.

Anyway....I hope you like my card. And I appreciate you all who have kept coming back to visit even though there hasn't been anything new to see. I hope to correct that in the near future!

Thanks again,
Kathryn

Moroccan Nights Lantern card - #tgifc59

Can you believe it?! Two posts in the same week?!! What is up with THAT!!!?

Okay, I have been feeling inspired by the Moroccan Nights stamp set. So many beautiful inspiration pieces on my inspiration board on Pinterest that I just had to make something else! I was inspired...but it did take me three tries to get my focal piece to where I liked it. I really like the Bokeh technique on it. The colors are much more brilliant in person. I was also inspired with the sketch challenge over at the TGIF Challenge blog, #tgifc59.

All supplies are from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted:
Stamp sets: Moroccan Nights, Thoughtful Banners
Ink: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Whisper White Craft, Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark Watermark Stamp Pad
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Crushed Curry, Very Vanilla, Basic Black
Accessories: Big Shot, Large Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder, Heat Tool, Sponge Daubers, Window Sheets, Circle Punches: 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", Metallics Sequin Assortment, Dimensionals, Simply Scored Scoring Board

Here is the sketch from TGIF Challenges:

Check out their blog, and leave some love for them in the form of comments. Better yet, play along if you can!

If you have any questions, or want to order any of the supplies I used, please leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as I can!

Thanks for visiting!

Catalog Open House

I never know what to write here. Writing is one of those hard things for me. I can scrapbook, and I can make cards, and craft and stuff like that, but boy...writing is so hard for me. So here is an idea. What if I just post stuff I've made and tell you about it. If anything else happens to pop on here, consider it a bonus! Sounds great to me. (Maybe that way I can feel okay about posting more often, even if I don't have anything else to say.)

I'm holding a Stampin' Up! Open House at my home on Saturday. People are invited to come to my home and make an adorable, simple birthday card and check out the current Stampin' Up! catalog. In case you don't have any stampin' experience (or not very much experience) the card will be pretty simple, so as to not overwhelm you. If you are interested in coming over, let me know in the comments and I will give you my address and let you know the other details.

Here is the card:
All Supplies used are from Stampin' Up! unless specified otherwise.
Stamp Set: Amazing Birthday
Cardstock: Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo
Inks: Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo
Accessories: Big Shot, Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (Large Polka Dot), Stampin' Dimensionals

**Please forgive the strange colors from the photo. My camera is starting to act up. I think it might be dying. I need to get a new one, but as long as I can get a mostly okay photo, I will continue to use it till it dies. Any suggestions on a good one (not too expensive) would be appreciated.

Hope to see you again soon!
Kathryn
